So for years we've been hearing about motor homes being bombarded with love bugs. Being from New England we had no clue what the heck a love bug was and of course thought people were exaggerating. Well yesterday we experienced love bugs. For the record, no one exaggerates about them. They are gross, they stain, they travel in swarms and we are both very very glad we were not on the bikes! We've just spent over an hour trying to get them off the front of the coach in 90 plus degrees and disgusting humidity. Part of the frustration is we will get them again tomorrow as we travel! Gives us something to look forward to - NOT!
Yesterday we traveled from Choudrant, LA to Byram, MS ~ about 150 miles on interstates. We will be leaving here tomorrow heading north a bit and I think we may settle for a week or so (fingers crossed) there if we can. I am looking at a state park in TN that has pull thru sites. We usually can not do state parks because we are too "big" and for short stays (a day or two) it just isn't worth it to disconnect the trailer etc ... stay tuned. Today we need to go do some errands - return a DVD player, get another DVD player, get a new mirror for my bike, find a grocery store.
On a side note, it is funny watching peoples faces when we talk. I guess we are the ones with the accents and the "locals" don't know what the heck we are saying. This has been the case since we hit Minnesota! And the sayings of the locals here in MS is too funny. Last night we were chatting with one of the neighbors here and he was telling us about a BBQ restaurant down the road (a piece!!) and he continues on to tell us "the bbq is so good your tongue will slap your brain out"!!! HUH?
