On the road in the rain

Yesterday's travel was 250 miles - a looooong day for the driver!  Plus it rained and poured and winded for about 90% of those miles .... I guess it was the tail end of Gustav.

We arrived here at the Elks Lodge in Poplar Bluffs, MO around 3:30 and stayed the night. There are no hook ups here so we are self sufficient - a nice change once in a while.

We'll be leaving here in an hour or so and head to Little Rock, AR - 200 miles away.  Hopefully I can convince Rick we should stay there a couple nights, then Sunday head to Choudrant, LA where we have an appointment.  We should be there probably three or four nights.

I think this part of Missouri is really pretty - it looked like it had potential without the rain!  I was surprised to see these rolling hills once we got South of St. Louis.  North of there it was pretty flat and a continuation of miles and miles and miles of corn fields and soy bean fields!  The majority of the roads we have traveled on in the last week or so are concrete roads rather than asphalt ..... so it is mile upon mile of bump bump bump bump as we travel over them!
